Fernando María was born in Segovia to a family with close links to suckling pig and lamb. As Castilla and the surrounding area specialise in roast meats, he began his professional career by selling his products mainly to the hotel and catering sector.

Fernando María was born in Segovia to a family with close links to suckling pig and lamb. As Castilla and the surrounding area specialise in roast meats, he began his professional career by selling his products mainly to the hotel and catering sector.
As the demand for lamb and kid grew in Spain, David de María, Fernando’s son and current managing director of the company, joined the family business. He brought a more modern approach to the firm, with greater visibility.
In the following years, his brother, Israel de María, and sister, Esther de Maria, joined the company as Director of Marketing and Finance

The growing need in the market for products from natural sources led to a qualitative leap in ease of preparation and shorter cooking times, but without sacrificing flavour, and so, in 2018 the Dorea brand was created.

2021 saw the launch of the PRE-ROASTED line of lamb and kid roasts in different formats, designed to suit every type of diner. This was when it was decided to go into online sales. Also, international advertising began across Europe, mainly in France, Italy and Germany.
Today, Dorea is committed to constant improvement in development and innovation, so as to continue offering the highest quality products.
